St. Pat's History

• St. Joseph's Parish Hall

  St. Joseph's Parish Hall

  During the first year the school operated, it was housed in St. Joseph's red brick Parish Hall on Laurier Avenue East and had a total of 135 students and 7 faculty.

• Echo Drive

  Echo Drive

  St. Pat's then moved to 281 Echo Drive Campus (Patterson Farm), it's first permanent location, in 1930. In 1932 St. Pat's College began to offer University courses in addition to high school classes. For 38 years, St. Pat's campus overlooked the beautiful Rideau Canal and catered to local and out of town students.

• Heron Road

  Heron Road (Campanile)

  The high school sector of St. Pat's moved to1485 Heron Road in 1968 where it shared the Campanile campus with Notre Dame High School of the Congregation of Notre Dame (CND Sisters). Based on European Universities, such as Oxford and Cambridge, Campanile was like a small town with work, play and pray areas connected by open green spaces between the many buildings.

• St. Jude's Junior High

  St. Patrick's Junior High School - Heron Road

  In 1972, St. Pat's and Notre Dame High School were forced to close their senior divisions due to financial constraints. Two of the buildings remained operating as a Junior High School with grades 7 through 10. The school was called St. Jude's Junior High School during 1972-1973. After only a year, the name was changed back to St. Pat's. With full funding from the Ontario government in 1984 the school began to add the senior grades. St. Pat's became a full-fledged high school by 1986.

• Alta Vista Drive

  St. Patrick's High School - Alta Vista Drive

  Due to the increased student population, St. Patrick's High School moved to 2525 Alta Vista Dr. in the early 1990's. Since 1993 the grade 7 to 8 students have continued to occupy the Heron Rd. site as St. Patrick's Intermediate School, while the grade 9-OAC students moved down the street.

  St. Pat's College and High School have created years of history, from when it was founded until today. Alumni, staff and students can be proud of the rich history, spirit, strength, and diversity of this school.
